We did not track AI search for this client in February 2026, so AI figures are shown as they stand today.
THE CHALLENGE
The client is a long-established US distributor of golf club components: heads, shafts, grips and clubmaking tools, plus custom-built clubs. It sells to professional clubmakers and to golfers who build or repair their own clubs.
The site was already large, but its top-5 rankings had stalled at about 3,400 for the six months before we started. Its buyers ask very specific technical questions: which shaft flex suits their swing, how to re-grip or re-shaft a club, which epoxy to use. More of those questions are now answered by AI, inside Google’s AI Overviews and in tools like ChatGPT, often without a click.
The goal was to get rankings moving again and make the client the source that AI answers link to for clubmaking questions.
WHAT WE DID
We have run a structured monthly SEO programme since 14 February 2026, with every task logged and reported each month.
- Audit and foundations. Competitor analysis, an SEO recommendations and technical evaluation report, page-speed and mobile checks, Search Console issue reports and a keyword revision in April.
- Content clubmakers actually search for. Long-form articles and blogs every month on shafts, grips, club length, fitting and re-shafting, plus regular press releases.
- Authority building. Monthly link outreach, business and local listings, review sites, forum and question-and-answer posts, and image and video promotion, backed by a full backlink audit.
- AI visibility. A baseline AI visibility report in May 2026, so we could see which questions AI answers were sending to competitors.
- Monthly measurement. Ranking, Search Console and links reports every month, a mid-month audit, and the next month’s plan adjusted to what was working.

| AI engine (United States) | Links to the site |

These are real golfer and clubmaker questions where an AI answer links to the client as a source:
- Google AI Overviews: “golf club shafts”, “iron shafts”, “golf club head” and “putter heads” link to the client’s component pages.
- Google AI Overviews: “best iron grips golf” cites a corded-versus-rubber grips comparison we wrote for the client in February 2026.
- Google AI Mode: “center shaft putter”, “undersized golf grips” and “How to measure the length of a golf club shaft?” link to the client’s product and guide pages.
- ChatGPT: “Where to buy golf club heads?” links to the client among US component suppliers.
- Perplexity and Gemini: “How to lengthen golf clubs?” and “What is wedge flex shaft?” cite the client’s blog guides.
When a golfer asks an AI assistant how to fit, build or repair a club, the client’s pages are among the sources it links to.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOUR BUSINESS
Buyers increasingly get their shortlist from an AI answer, not a page of blue links. The businesses that answers quote are the ones that rank for real buyer questions, publish clear expert content and are trusted by other sites.
That is the same work we did here, and we run it for clients in Australia, the UK, the US, the Middle East and Asia. Contact us and we will show you where your business appears in AI answers today, and where your competitors are cited instead.
